HELP ME PLEASE Sometimes contemporary artists are compared to great masters like Michelangelo. Why? What do you think of this comparison?

I personally believe that this comparison is not relevant, because Michelagelo was one of the greatest artists of his time and symbolises a Renaissance of artistic culture which was prominent at his time. Nowadays artists tend to have more modernist approach to the art and can copy Renaissance artists but won't have the same value as Michelangelo had back then.
